blind eyes?

It’s interesting because this blog site is a wide-open one, full of so many various styles and types of blogs, full of self-appointed prophets and “religious” people who must pontificate about Christianity. A lot of them are narrow-minded, arrogant sorts who have closed off minds. I’ve noticed that though, over my years of living, that a majority of those who classify themselves as “religious” or Christian are indeed arrogant and close-minded.

Not to put down the opinions and the beliefs of people, though it might sound that I do, what amazes me is the percentages around here. There are the “Christian” journals on one side, then there are the adult journals on the other side—and in between are the whatever journals. You know, what with the “report mature” button up there, I am so damn surprised that there aren’t a lot of “here today, gone tomorrow” adult journals, yet why should these be the only ones to get slammed? I have come across some pretty questionable political journals, as well as some Christian oriented journals that should be slammed with the mature, simply because of their content (no, not erotic, but their views).

What I don’t get and most likely never will, is that some of them can never voice their own opinions about what Christianity is and why they are Christians. It’s always a pat, robotic reply when asked; never something of their own, well okay, maybe it is their own reply, however it’s also a rather generic, “same as” everybody elses. No imagination, no creativity.
Then there’s the endless scripture quotes, never seems to end. They always have a scripture to quote for nearly every thought that comes into their head, from outside. They always have more than one quote, they have four, five, or a dozen, to back up what their plastic-brains have to spew forth as “the truth.” If they do happen to say something original, they ruin it by adding in all those scripture quotes, to back themselves up, or maybe it’s to make them feel more comfortable.
They can’t ever seem to accept other people’s views either, oh they might claim to, they might even go as far as saying something in agreement—but in the end, they look down upon somebody who doesn’t agree and they will show it by their scripture quotes and attitudes.
It’s okay for them to believe what believe in and to share it (with scriptures included) but when it comes to a dissenter or somebody who expresses views which disagree—suddenly their arrogance shows up and they don’t want to listen.
It never really seems to end though, it’s always nearly the same “message” without anything original, or if it is original, they fuck it up with their attitudes (non-christian in reality) and their endless scripture quotes and proof that they can’t be imaginative, creative or original.

Oh—then it’s the flame jobs too. If they can’t seem to “win” the discussion, they go after the other person and label them as atheist or some other insult; they close off their minds, they close off their hearts and they especially close off their Christian dogma of acceptance of others.
Yes and in my own way, I flame too…it’s human nature, however my flame is specific and is against the beliefs, not the person.

Thus it would seem, from reading all those “Christian” blogs, and finding myself at odds with some of them, I have noticed that a lot of them living life with blind eyes…

    Dear Werewolf Within,

Well those damn Christians really are something else, are they not? Pinheads, the whole lot them. From a general, world perspective I agree with you. Yet, a bit of honest admittance is missing from your post. Aside from the fact that many professing Christians haven’t a clue what Christianity is because of dissenting theologies (there two Orthodox views of Salvation) much good has been done in the name of Christianity. And, honestly much that is not so good. Nazism and Communism did the same thing in many countries to a much greater degree than any claims about the crusades. China today is communist. Muslim Shira law is a horrible theocracy in many countries. In Africa how many have died in the last 20 years because of Islam? So, why are Christians the worst thing around?

actually the name is decapitated soul…but that’s okay, you just used the title of that entry.
there is nothing missing from the post. it is written as how i feel, i could have added so much more, but, as i look at it, nothing is missing. well okay, maybe there is some stuff missing, as i said, i could have said so much more.
as for the rest of your comment…all i can do is ask WHAT????
sometimes i write wide entries that take in a lot, sometimes they are more narrow, as is this entry…the items you bring in, though valid, would be in another situation, not this one particular entry.
i have my opinion about christianity, and those who profess to be christian, that is what the entry concerns and nothing else. if i wanted to include other religions or beliefs, then i would have, however since i have only experience with the christian folk and the religion of christianity and what it has done to me—then that is what i write about.
sure i can write a long winded opinion about other religions, such as Buddhism, which i tend to agree with, philosophically, more with than christianity, however since i am not a buddhist nor was i brought up in the budhist belief system—i don’t have enough experience to write anything except my opinion and what it does for me.
apparently you are a much more rounded individual, who is up on current events and have taken offense to what i have written.
BTW: China has been communist, and if i recall right, “non-Soviet” communism, for a very long time, i believe as history will state that the government was communist as far back as pre-WW2, or at least when Mao moved in. so there’s nothing new about China, and what does that have to do with my entry?
your reply, though well thought out and delivered real well just seems to miss what my entry was all about…

and—as for china—they should get the hell out of Tibet and let them rule their own country…
